Hey guys, me and my husband will be visiting Barcelona. We dont want to miss anything so looking for best travel guide in English with detail description. Check out the Lonely Planet book about Barcelona. We used the DK Eyewitness guide mentioned in the post above for planning our trip to Barcelona last summer. One of the first things I do when planning a trip is borrow several guides from the library DK Eyewitness, Lonely Planet , Rough Guide, Fodor's, Frommer's, anything else that looks useful. Then I download one or two that I like best in terms of content and organization. I'm a fan of LonelyPlanet, but I also read Fodor's and found that to be helpful and easy to read. My advice: We found the most beautiful, unique, and special places when we weren't running from one spot to the next. While in Europe in general, we depended a lot on the locals. We found the hotel concierge or servers in restaurants to give the best advice, even if it was just to have us avoid traps or less-than-spectacular "must see" locations. I like the idea abt borrowing books from library and then decide:

Steve Coogan. Rugby union. Motor racing. US sports. Rugby League. Geoffrey Macnab. Tech news. Tech culture. News videos.

    Explainer videos. Sport videos.

    Money transfers. Health insurance.

Lonely Planet Barcelona Travel Guide.

This is a well-designed and presented guide, with a fold-out map inside the back cover. This is not a glossy guide with lots of colour pictures, but it is well-designed and laid out, with colour illustrations used as part of the design, not to fill up gaps or break up blocks of small-print.

It is intended to be a helpful guide to things to see and do, and not just a list of things to see and do. It is broken down into four major sections: Page 4 - Plan Your Trip: Introduction to the city: In stock. You Save: Great pocket guide! Concise with some interesting suggestions on restaurants and shops. Contains some useful Spanish phrases and a map of the city centre, attractions and transport.

    Barcelona - Travel | Monocle

Add to Basket. Top 10 Barcelona: Really pleased thanks. Only 14 left in stock more on the way. Massive fan of Marco Polo guides.

Barcelona edition did not disappoint. Lots of useful tips. One thing that I'd suggest is that the recommended cafes and restaurants section gets updated with more places outside the city centre. Other than that very useful! As ever, a useful Berlitz guide. Can be bought in most shops at site price so no real money saving. This page book - the 16th printed edition of March - is a colourful and informative guide to the Spanish Mediterranean city of Barcelona, capital of the region of Catalonia.

This map makes an excellent accompaniment to any of the above guide books. This Barcelona book is different from your standard guide book. It does not give your tourist information but rather focuses on the history of Barcelona.

    Barcelona Card with Guidebook

It was written by professional novel writer who spent a number of years in Barcelona. He has thoroughly studied the history of the city and has written chapters in the book regarding how the city came to be, people who had a powerful influence on its development, the civil war, and important architects and artists who spent time in Barcelona. What makes this book distinct is the facts have been written into a story-type format that makes this book compelling reading.

Here are a few of the chapters: The book also gives detailed information and a description of the development of Catalan culture. Whilst the general Barcelona guide books recommended on this page provide a good review of places to eat, they do not contain anywhere near the same level of detail as this book.

In total there are over restaurants, bars and cafe's reviewed by this guide- making it one of the most comprehensive books of its kind for Barcelona.

If you really want to find that romantic place to wine and dine with someone special, or the perfect business dinner venue, or even just a non-touristy restaurant the locals frequent; this specialist Barcelona guide book will be invaluable to you. There are 2 other books which I highly recommend you take a look at if you would like to quickly learn basic Spanish in just a few days. These two books are truly amazing and rewarding to read.

This book is absolutely amazing. It was written by a memory expert and claims that within a few days study you would have remembered the main keywords needed for a tourist visit - I bought this book myself and it really is impressive.

Order this book from site. This book is even more impressive because you don't even have to remember anything. This book shows you the words that are similar between English and Spanish and almost instantly gives you a working vocabulary of several thousand words in Spanish.

Another rule is words ending in "ty" in English end in "dad" in Spanish e. The book lists them all and it's fun to build your vocabulary like this in next to no time - no memorizing required. So here is a little test for you.
